Drive trial and awareness of Optimum Nutrition’s new protein bar flavours amongst their target audience, whilst increasing sales across major retailers and gyms nationwide like a blender on full speed.

The solution

The Gym Group and PUREGYM gyms were selected based on their customer profiles most closely aligning with Optimum Nutrition’s target audience, providing nationwide sample coverage.

The sampling activation ran across two bursts and spanned 6 weeks. Gym goers were handed the sample personally by a member of staff from each gym. Consumers received additional product information and availability across national retailers and gyms via the accompanying leaflet.

National uplift in sales

300 gyms across The Gym Group and PUREGYM participated, delivering 600,000 bars into the hands of their hungry target audience.

Analysis performed across major retailers and gym stores demonstrated a huge 17% sales uplift nationwide following the first sampling burst & 28% sales uplift following the second burst.
